Data privacy

Fundamentals

These data protection provisions are based on the legal regulations of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), which will come into force on 25 May 2018. The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy. In principle, it is possible to use our website without providing personal data. Insofar as personal data (e.g. surname, first name, telephone number, address or e-mail addresses) is collected on our website, this is always done on a voluntary basis as far as possible. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. We would like to point out that despite all the measures we have taken, data transmission on the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) can have security gaps and therefore complete protection of data against access by third parties is not guaranteed in every case.

Cookies

This website uses cookies. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain viruses. The creation of a cookie is a way of temporarily storing data and serves to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser. The cookies we use most frequently are so-called ‘session cookies’, which have a limited lifespan. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise you as a visitor on your next visit and thus offer you a better visitor experience. You can set your browser so that you are informed when cookies are set. You can also specifically allow cookies only in individual cases or generally exclude them. You can also set your browser to automatically delete cookies when you close the browser window. If you deactivate cookies, the functionality of this website may be restricted.

These are in particular Browser type and browser version Operating system used Referrer URL Host name of the accessing computer Time of the server request This data cannot be assigned to specific persons. This data is not merged with other data sources. We reserve the right to check this data retrospectively if we become aware of specific indications of unlawful use. The primary purpose of this data collection is to analyse and prevent attempted attacks on the website. Hosting providers are also legally obliged in certain situations to be able to provide information on where access was made from in order to counter criminal activities.

We use our address management system to personalise the newsletter. In the address management you will be listed with your complete address data, provided you give us this information. In the newsletter, we use your first name and surname as well as the salutation for personalised addressing. We would like to offer you added value and address you personally. If you do not want this, you can inform us at any time and we will remove this data. We use the newsletter data exclusively for sending the requested information and for correspondence with our customers in connection with invoices, contracts and project-specific work. We assure you that we will treat your data confidentially and never pass it on to third parties. You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the e-mail address and its use in our address management and for sending the newsletter at any time by informing us by e-mail, telephone or via the ‘unsubscribe’ link in the newsletter.

SSL encryption

To protect the transmission of confidential data via our forms and for security reasons, we use SSL encryption technology. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the address line ‘https://’ and the lock symbol displayed in the browser. Data that is encrypted using SSL cannot be read by third parties during transmission.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc (‘Google’). Google Analytics uses so-called ‘cookies’, text files which are stored on the user’s computer and which enable the use of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie about the use of this website by users is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this website, the IP address of Google users within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area will be truncated beforehand. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. IP anonymisation is active on this website. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to analyse the use of the website by users, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator.

The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. Users may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on their browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Users can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to their use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Third-party providers, including Google, place adverts on websites on the Internet. Third-party providers, including Google, use stored cookies to place adverts based on a user’s previous visits to this website.

Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You can object to the collection and storage of data at any time with effect for the future. You can deactivate the use of cookies by Google by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser software.

You can find further information on the use of data for advertising purposes by Google, setting and objection options on the Google websites: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/partners (‘Data use by Google when you use our partners’ websites or apps‘), http://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads (’Data use for advertising purposes‘), http://www.google.de/settings/ads (’Manage information that Google uses to show you advertising‘) and http://www.google.com/ads/preferences (’Determine which advertising Google shows you”).

As an alternative to the browser add-on or within browsers on mobile devices, please install the Ghostery app.

By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Google AdWords

This website uses Google AdWords, an analysis service from Google, and conversion tracking as part of Google AdWords. Google AdWords stores a cookie for conversion tracking in your browser (so-called ‘conversion cookie’) when you click on an advert placed by Google. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If you visit certain pages on our website, Google and we can recognise that you have clicked on the ad and have been redirected to this page.

The information obtained using conversion cookies is used to compile statistics for AdWords customers who use conversion tracking. These statistics tell us the total number of users who have clicked on the advert placed by Google and accessed a page with a conversion tracking tag.

In addition to conversion tracking, we sometimes also use the functions

  • Remarketing
  • Target groups with common interests
  • Customised target groups with common interests
  • Ready-to-buy target groups
  • Similar target groups
  • demographic and geographical focus.

We use Google’s remarketing function to reach users who have already visited our website. This allows us to present our adverts to target groups who are already interested in our products or services. AdWords also uses user behaviour on websites in Google’s advertising network (‘Display Network’) over the last 30 days and the contextual search engine to determine the common interests and characteristics of users of our website. Based on this information, AdWords then finds new potential customers for marketing purposes whose interests and characteristics are similar to those of the users of our website. Target group-specific remarketing is carried out through the combined use of cookies, such as Google Analytics cookies and Google DoubleClick cookies.

Further information on terms of use and data protection in the context of Google AdWords can be found at this link: http://www.google.de/policies/technologies/ads/.

Google Maps

We integrate the map service ‘Google Maps’ of the provider Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. This integration means that data is exchanged in the background for tracking purposes. If you do not wish to disclose any data about yourself, please log out of your Google account or use a plugin such as Ghostery to block the exchange of data. Here you can find the Google privacy policy.

YouTube

We integrate some videos from the ‘YouTube’ platform of the provider Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. This integration means that data is exchanged in the background for tracking purposes. If you do not wish to disclose any data about yourself, please log out of your Google account or use a plugin such as Ghostery to block the exchange of data. Here you can find the Google privacy policy.

Facebook (Pixel) Remarketing / Retargeting (Custom Audiencens)

The Facebook pixel of the social network Facebook, 1601 South California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA is integrated on our pages. When you visit our pages, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Facebook server via the Facebook pixel. Facebook receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. This allows Facebook to associate your visit to our pages with your user account. We can use the information obtained in this way to display Facebook Ads or for tracking functions. We would like to point out that, as the provider of the pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Facebook. Further information on this can be found in Facebook’s privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/ . If you do not wish data to be collected via Custom Audience, you can deactivate Custom Audiences here.

Integration of third-party services and content

It may happen that third-party content, such as videos from YouTube, maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites are integrated into this online offering. This always presupposes that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as ‘third-party providers’) recognise the IP address of the user. This is because without the IP address, they would not be able to send the content to the respective user’s browser. The IP address is therefore required to display this content. We endeavour to only use content whose respective providers only use the IP address to deliver the content. However, we have no influence on whether the third-party providers store the IP address, e.g. for statistical purposes. Insofar as we are aware of this, we will inform users accordingly.

If you do not wish to disclose any data about yourself, please log out of your Google account or use a plugin such as Ghostery to block the exchange of data. Here you can find the Google privacy policy.

Right to information, blocking and erasure

You have the right to free information about your stored personal data at any time. In particular, you have the right to know the origin and recipient of your data and the purpose of data processing as well as the right to correct, block or delete this data.

Objection to unsolicited e-mails

We hereby object to the use of the contact data published as part of our obligation to provide a legal notice for the purpose of sending unsolicited advertising and information material. The operators of this website expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, such as spam e-mails or post.

Spam protection with Google reCAPTCHA

We have implemented Google reCAPTCHA in forms on our website to check whether the data entered in the forms comes from human visitors or from machines or automated programmes, also known as ‘bots’. This tool automatically analyses the behaviour of website visitors as soon as they interact with the website, using various information such as IP address, length of stay and mouse movements. The processed data includes usage data such as the website accessed, date and time of access and mouse movements as well as communication data such as IP addresses, browser type and operating system. This processing is aimed at website visitors and users of online services. The main purpose of this processing is to prevent misuse of our contact form and thereby increase security. The legal basis for this is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f. GDPR. The data recipients are Google Ireland Ltd, based at Google Building Gordon House, Barrow St, Dublin 4, Ireland, (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and our website hosting provider. While your personal data is processed within the EU, the retention period for the processed data is determined by Google Ireland Limited.
